2010 export targets within grasp

On December 19, figures released by Vietnam’s customs sector showed that export turnover in the first 11 months of 2010 reached USD 64.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 25% and as much as 105.8% of the year’s target.

Rice exports reached 127.6% of the year’s target, garment and textile export turnover exceeded USD 10 billion, seafood earned nearly USD 4.5 billion, and wood and wooden products surpassed USD 3 billion.

The sector also reported that imports in the first 11 months were worth USD 75.5 billion, an increase of 20.7% and as much as 102% of the year’s target.
