Early May 7, Thuan An district’s Red Cross Society held a get-together to mark the 147th anniversary of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (May 8).

 

The whole district has so far had 10 voluntary blood donation squads with 79 members and 13 propaganda squads on voluntary blood donation with 141 members. The district’s Red Cross Society last year organized five voluntary blood donation campaigns with 719 participants who gave 719 units of blood, getting 102.7% of the set target.

 

At the get-together, Thuan An district’s People’s Committee praised and awarded the certificates of merit to 41 individuals who last year donated blood three times and above. The district’s Red Cross Society also granted 55 scholarships worth VND300,000 each to 55 poor-but-excellent pupils.
