"Binh Duong students - Beautiful stories" is an award to honor and spread the examples of young people who live with ideals, ambitions, live beautifully and usefully for the sake of the community. This year, Binh Duong has 9 students receiving this title.

As a student with a difficult family situation, 5 years ago, Nguyen Quoc Hien, a student of Binh Duong Medical College entered the school with the dream of becoming a medical worker soon. During his studying period, Hien always tried his best to achieve the best results. But in March 2021, Hien temporarily put aside his learning to join the military service under the sacred call of the Fatherland. During 2 years of studying and working in the army, Hien always tried to pursue her ideals. After 2 years, Hien was discharged with the rank of military medical sergeant and was honored to be admitted to the Party.

After that, Hien went back to school and started his medical learning again. With his self-reliant spirit, when returning to school, Hien spent his time on doing a lot of extra work from taking part-time jobs in clinics to being a dancer and selling online to cover tuition fees and daily living expenses.... Despite being so busy, Hien still actively participated in Youth Union - Association activities.

During his learning process, Hien always achieved good academic results, won scholarships for himself and won the title of excellent student in the 2021-2022 academic year. In addition to his excellent academic achievement, Hien was also a typical example with a warm heart for the community. When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out strongly in Binh Duong, Hien volunteered to be on the front line to participate in pandemic prevention and control.

The story of Vu Duc Duy, a final-year student of primary education from Thu Dau Mot University is also a meaningful and inspirational story about the voluntary spirit for the community to young people. Recalling the time when being a fresh student, Duy said: “As an extrovert, I really enjoy participating in voluntary activities. At that time, I decided to join the school's Pedagogical Skills Club. Initially, the club was small with several tens of members. In 2019, the club organized a charity class in Thu Dau Mot city’s Tuong Binh Hiep ward to create conditions for disadvantaged children to have the opportunity to find words. During the years of joining the club, Duy devoted himself to the children's future. Up to now, after 4 years, the class is still maintained and Duy is also trusted to hold the role of club head.

Duy said: "Born and grew up in a poor countryside, I really sympathize with unfortunate circumstances in society. That's reason why I’m always a pioneer in guiding members of the club to actively participate in social activities. From that thought, charity classes and volunteer programs in summer and spring were born, and I want to bring members of the club practical things that they have not yet experienced at school…”.

Spreading to the community

In the school year of 2022-2023, provincial Student Association Secretariat honored 9 outstanding students in the campaign of "Vietnamese students - Beautiful stories". These are young people who actively participate in the campaign of "One good news every day, one beautiful story every week" launched by the Youth Union Central Committee while implementing many activities to live beautifully and usefully for the community, including being active in learning and Youth Union - Association activities, volunteering to participate in Covid-19 prevention and control, engaging in activities for social welfare; getting involved in environmental protection…

Tran Thi Diem Trinh, Secretary of provincial Youth Union, Chairwoman of provincial Student Association said: "Binh Duong students - Beautiful stories" is a reward to honor and spread the examples of young people who live with ideals, ambitions, live beautifully and usefully for the community. This activity aims at concretizing the implementation of the Party Central Committee Secretariat’s Directive 42-CT/TW on strengthening the Party's leadership in education of revolutionary ideals, morality, and cultural lifestyle for the young generation in the period of 2015-2030 and the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 31/CT-TTg on strengthening ethics and lifestyle education among students".

Since 2015, the campaign of "Vietnamese students - Beautiful stories" has been officially launched by the Vietnam Student Association Central Committee. To concretize this campaign, provincial Student Association Secretariat has implemented many forms and campaigns among students from schools and received a lot of attention from them. Through the program, there have been many examples of students who have overcome difficult circumstances to achieve excellent results in learning, scientific research, asserting themselves in life.
