Ben Cat celebrates 43 years of South Liberation, National Reunification Day

Early April 26, Ben Cat town held a get-together to mark 43 years of the South Liberation, National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975-April 30, 2018). Attending the event were Nguyen Minh Triet, former State President; Nguyen Minh Thuy, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Organization Commission; Nguyen Hoang Chau, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chief of provincial Party Committee’s Inspection Commission and leaders of the town.

At the groundbreaking ceremony

After 43 years of the South Liberation and National Reunification, from an agricultural locality, under the Party’s sound leadership and people’s consensus, the town has changed strongly with achievements done in the renewal cause. The town’s economy has constantly grown up. In 2017 alone, the town reached an economic growth at 23.5%; absorbed 652 investment projects, up 14% compared to 2016. The figure has brought the total number of investment projects herein so far to 3,160 totaling more than VND26.8trillion and more than US$5.9million.

Also in 2017, the town’s total production value was more than VNĐ7.7trillion, up 18.7% against 2016. The town’s economic structure was shifted with industrial production, services and agricultural production at 80.6%, 18.9% and 0.5%, respectively. The average income of the local people was VND102million per person per year. In addition, the town paid more attention to urban development and new rural construction…

*Prior to that, Ben Cat town also held a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of its Monument of 4,300 square meters at Vat Tu three-way crossroads on 30/4 street in My Phuoc ward’s quarter 2 with a total expense of more than VND44billion.

On this occasion, colonel Nguyen Huu Tam, former Commander of Ben Cat town’s Military Command was awarded the National Defence Medal of the State President. The town also presented the Fatherland Citing Awards to the families of martyrs; the 30-60 year Party membership insignias to 28 Party members…
