Binh Duong Buddhist Sangha receives record certificate of “Asian longest Buddha statue entering Nirvana on temple roof”

Early May 31st, provincial Buddha Sangha held a solemn certificate reception ceremony of the record “Asian longest Buddha statue entering Nirvana on temple roof” with the attendance of former State President Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, Vice Chairman of provincial People’s Committee Mr. Huynh Van Nhi and representatives of agencies, sectors, Buddhist monks, nuns and followers. Superior monk Thich Hue Thong received record certificate from Mr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, Director of Asian Record organization  The entering Nirvana Buddha statue constructed since 2008 and inaugurated in 2010 is 52m long, 23m above the ground. This is a provincial unique Buddhist architecture, a place for Buddhists to gather and contemplate. The obtaining of this record certificate was a great honor to provincial Buddhism as well as a chance to introduce our province with many peaceful pagodas to foreigners… On this occasion, Mr. Nhi appreciated contributions of Buddhist community to construct temples, pagodas as well as charity. He contended, this was an important event of provincial Buddhism; additionally called on followers to contribute continually to the overall unity, live meaningfully in accordance with the motto “Religion – Nation – Socialism”.
