Binh Duong excels at protecting national defense works and military zones

On February 21, a delegation of the National Assembly's Committee for National Defense and Security, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Hung, Deputy Head of the Committee, had a working session with Binh Duong province on the survey and preparation for the verification of the draft Law on management and protection of national defense works and military zones in the province. Nguyen Van Danh, Vice- Chairman of provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, sectors in the province received the delegation.

Speaking at the working session, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Hung assessed that Binh Duong had good coordination in implementing the National Assembly Standing Committee’s Ordinance No. 32-C/CTN dated May 19, 1994 on the protection of national defense works and military zone over the past time. After nearly 29 years of implementing the ordinance, the province obtained many positive highlights in protection of national defense works and military zones, ensuring the set requirements and purposes, ensuring a safe area, promoting the local socio-economic development in association with national defense and security, building up a solid defensive area.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Hung asked for members of the survey delegation to fully record the opinions and recommendations by leaders and functional agencies of the province, conduct additional research to serve the verification of the project of the Law on management and protection of national defense works and military zones before completing and submitting them to the National Assembly, with focus on ideas related to safe belts in national defense works and military zones to ensure the local socio-economic development in association with national defense and security, building up a solid defensive area.

Prior to that, the delegation conducted a field trip to provincial logistics-technical base in Phu Giao district’s Phuoc Hoa commune and spoke highly of the local investment in this area.
