Binh Duong pays attention to youths’development

Over the past time, Binh Duong has always made many policies taking care of the spiritual and material lives of young people, helping them uphold their volunteer and creation for the sake of community.

From an outstanding unit

Possibly speaking, Di An town is one of the province’s outstanding units in building up a healthy living environment for young people and creating favorable conditions for their comprehensive development.

Many outstanding youths have also been discovered from the local youth movements. Nguyen Van Binh is a typical example for this. Over the past time, he has maintained a charity class for disadvantaged children, contributing to the local task on illiteration eradication.

The town’s Youth Union has cooperated with the town’s Labor Union and vocational training facilities to provide vocational training and employment to youths. There were also 1,500 youths getting job consultancy and introduction from the local Youth Union and its affiliates.

To implmentation of the Youth Law

Provincial mass organizations have sped up dissemination of the laws among youths, including the Youth Law, the Law on Road Traffic…

On the other hand, the attention of the local authorities has created favorable conditions for youths to uphold their talent, creation and volunteer in political, cultural and social fields.

Most legal support clubs organized by provincial Youth Union and its affiliates have brought into play their effectiveness in the task of law dissemination, contributing to raising youths’awareness of the laws.

Giving vocational training to youths

Under the Prime Minister’s Decision No.103 on giving vocational training and employment to youths between 2008 and 2015, provincial Youth Union and its affiliates have joined hands with the local sector of labor, war invalids and social affairs to focus on completing five key tasks for youths, including providing vocational training, job introduction; giving vocational consultancy; preventing social evils; implementing a program on developing Binh Duong’s youths; taking care of contributors and needy youths.

Along with the State’s preferential policies for youths getting vocational training, provincial People’s Committee has approved the project on “Giving vocational training to rural youths till 2020”. The province’s student loan program as of June 2011 also reached a total outstanding loan of more than VND189bln.

It is expected that the two-hectare My Phuoc Support Center for Young Workers with a total investment capital of more than VND57bln will be completed by the end of the year.

 

After three year-implementation of the project on educating computer skills among youths, the whole province opened 1,083 computer classes for 29,300 Youth Union officials, members and young workers, meeting the demands of the society in the new context.

Taking care of youths’spiritual life

Taking care of youths’spiritual life is one of the top targets in the Resolution of the 9th provincial Party congress. By 2015, the province will strive to get 55%-60% of communes, wards and townships with standard cultural-sports institutions.

The whole province now has 5 out of 7 districts, towns with cultural houses for children. The two remaining districts has planned to build cultural houses for children, which are expected for completion by 2015.

Under the investment socialization mode, the province has also called on businesses to make investment in cultural-sports institution projects.

To Huynh Ngoc Thanh, Deputy Head of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor cum Head of the Delegation of the Vietnam National Committee on Youth, for better results in the youth task, the local authorities need to obviously analyize the situation of youths for timely support policies.
