Caring for those who rendered service to country

TDM town has over time paid attention to people credited with revolutionary services and social policy beneficiaries via many substanitial activities, including building gratitute houses, raising money to the fund of “Paying the Debt of Gratitude”, visiting and presenting gifts to social policy beneficiaries…

In 2011 alone, the town’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs cooperated with communes and wards to build and upgrade 7 gratitude houses for social policy beneficiaries with a total expense of VND186mln.

The town’s People’s Committee also visited and presented Tet gifts to 100 outstanding social-policy beneficiaries; cooperated with Tuong Binh Hiep communal People’s Committee to hand over two sets of remains of martyrs to their families…

Also in 2011, the town’s People’s Committee provided unexpected allowance of nearly VND17mln for 23 social policy beneficiaries; made exemption and reduction of school fees with nearly VND192mln for 133 pupils and students who are the offspring of social policy beneficiaries; visited and presented gifts worth more than VND80mln to outstanding social policy beneficiaries on the Martyrs and War Invalids’Day…

Poverty reduction program implemented effectively

The town’s Bank for Social Policy disbursed VND36.536bln in loan for 3,490 turns of poor people to develop homebased business between 2009 and 2011.

The local poor people also enjoyed many other support capital sources, helping them stablize their lives.

During the period, the whole town built 165 unity houses with a total expense of more than VND3.661trillion. All poor people herein were granted health insurance cards.

The town’s Steering Board for Hunger Eradication and Poverty Reduction also organized 4 vocational training classes for 138 rural laborers. Meanwhile, the town’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs teamed up with businesses to introduce jobs to 7,500 laborers.

With the above efforts, as of late 2011, the whole town only had 1,692 poor households or 2.64% of total.
