Binh Duong provincial National Assembly Delegation conducts survey on the implementation of legal policies on medical examination and treatment in localities

Update: 14-04-2022 | 11:28:04

April 13, the delegation of the provincial National Assembly led by Mr. Pham Trong Nhan, Deputy Head of the provincial National Assembly Delegation had a survey in Thuan An city and Ben Cat town on the implementation of legal policies and laws on medical examination and treatment in the province. Ben Cat town Medical Center is operating under the two-function mechanism of prevention and treatment.

The process of implementing legal policies on medical examination and treatment at the unit has encountered many shortcomings. People with disabilities still have difficulties in accessing the medical examination and treatment services. The effectiveness of improving the medical examination and treatment process is not high, and there is a serious shortage of human resources. The status of nurses on duty every 2 days at all clinical departments affects the health of medical staff and the quality of patient service. After the COVID-19 pandemic, many medical staff quit their jobs. Since 2021, 35 employees had quit the center. At the Health Center of Thuan An City, the greatest problem is the implementation of social investments into the health sector due to the incomplete legal framework.

In particular, in medical examination and treatment with health insurance, the assignment of cost estimates for medical examination and treatment is not realistic. The assessment of health insurance still has many stages, many layers, and many procedures. By the frank exchange of opinions of the staff, doctors and nurses in the localities, members of the provincial National Assembly Delegation have been able to grasp the reality, research, and participate in draft discussions, the revised Law on Medical Examination and Treatment is expected to be submitted to the 3rd session of the 15th National Assembly.
