Binh Duong provincial Vietnam-India Friendship Association contributes to improving the friendly cooperative relations between Binh Duong and India

On 10 Nov, Binh Duong provincial Vietnam-India Friendship Association was officially established. This contributes to enhancing the understanding between Vietnamese and Indian people, and strengthening, developing the friendship between the two countries in general and between Binh Duong province and localities of India in particular.

To consolidate a traditional relationship

Vietnam and India officially established the diplomatic relation on 7 Jan 1972. By Jul 2007, the two sides officially announced the establishment of a "Strategic Partnership”. In Sep 2016, the bilateral relation was upgraded to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership", which demonstrated the deep, reliable and effective development of Vietnam-India relation. Over nearly 50 years, the relationship between the two countries has constantly developed in all fields.

Recently, Indian Ambassador, Consulate General, business delegations made many courtesy visits to Binh Duong province, and worked with provincial leaders to learn about investment opportunities here. The provincial leaders also pledged to accompany and create favorable conditions for Indian businesses. The province has now attracted 11 investment projects from India with a total capital of $ 114 million. India is the 19th country among 63 countries and territories investing, manufacturing and trading in the province. The main areas of investment are agricultural product processing (coffee, pepper, cashew, corn); production of instant coffee; producing and processing mixed spices and flavorings; manufacture of garment accessories; manufacturing and processing industries; pasteurization of agricultural products and foodstuffs. Some of India's major projects are: Tata Coffee Vietnam Company ($ 63 million), Marico Company ($ 11,505 million), Tufropes Vietnam Company ($ 8.5 million), Loc Tien Vietnam Company ($ 7.5 million)...

During these visits, provincial leaders also expressed the desire that the two sides would enhance cooperation in information technology, education, high-tech agriculture, and through diplomatic channels and investment promotion activities would introduce many Indian businesses to Binh Duong. Trần Thị Kim Vân, Chairwoman of Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, said that in order to facilitate exchanges and enhance the understanding between Vietnamese and Indian people; to consolidate and develop the friendship between the two countries in general and between Binh Duong province and localities of India in particular, the establishment of Binh Duong provincial Vietnam - India Friendship Association was extremely necessary. This would be a bridge to develop cultural exchanges and people-to-people relations, contributing to promoting economic cooperation.

Accordingly, Department of Foreign Affairs issued Decision No. 841/QD-SNgV to recognize the Campaign Board for the establishment ofBinh Duong provincial Vietnam-India Friendship Association, consisting of 7 members. The board has been actively encouraged members and prepared necessary procedures for this establishment. This process also received attention and support from Indian Ambassador, Consulate General, and provincial leaders.

To strengthen friendly cooperative activities

The establishment of Binh Duong provincial Vietnam - India Friendship Association will build more effective channels for friendly cooperation between Binh Duong and Indian localities. Ms. Vân said that the 2019-2024 action program of provincial Vietnam - India Friendship Association focused on the following main contents: Propagation of the association's charter, encouraging members actively participate in works and activities of the association, to be exemplary, enthusiastic in activities, have moral, healthy lifestyle, to strictly abide by laws; setting up annual specific work plan according to the orientation and guidance of Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and of the Central Vietnam-India Friendship Association to carry out practical and effective activities in order to contribute to foreign relations of the province.

At the same time, the Association will actively participate in all activities organized by Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, Central Vietnam - India Friendship Association, and cooperate with yoga centers, Indian businesses in Binh Duong to organize cultural, arts and sports programs on traditional holidays of the two countries Vietnam - India; pay attention to the development of membership; organize exchange activities, support members, and develop new members; actively take part in gratitude activities, humanitarian activities in the province. In the long run, the Association will strengthen friendly exchanges in fields of education, culture and economy with India.
