Binh Duong Women’s Union spread good deeds

On Jun 21, Binh Duong province Women’s Union (WU) held a conference to review 5 implementation years of Directive 03-CT/TW of the 11^th Politburo on “To keep promoting the learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh". Looking back after 5 years, the “Learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" movement has become the mindset of each female member’s behavior, creating many remarkable models with a strong pervasiveness among affliates.

From exemplary individuals

Learning about Uncle Ho, following Uncle Ho begin from particular but simple persons. They are Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, member of An Tay commune in Ben Cat Town picked up 2 gold maces and returned to the lost; Ms. Ho Thi Lieu donated VND1 million to the funeral of a migrant worker, 100kg of rice to a single mom; Ms. Nguyen Thi Be, member of My Phuoc ward WU in Ben Cat town donates monthly 10kg of rice to a student; Ms. Tran Thi Tu, member of Phuoc Hoa commune WU in Phu Giao District donates monthly VND1 million to a woman having heart disease… Ordinary women start from simple actions.

It can be said that that was results of the pervasiveness after 5 implementation years of Directive 03-CT/TW of the 11^th Politburo on keeping promoting the learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh. At every level of provincial WU, the movement has become a regular, voluntary action among all female members. Specific and meaningful deeds have been recorded. To spread the movement, provincial WU has coordinated with Binh Duong Newspaper and Binh Duong Television to produce 4,224 reports, articles on this movement, for example, exemplary women in escaping from poverty, doing business; typical models of learning and following Uncle Ho; families overcoming difficulties to bringup well children; Confident – Self-respecting – Faithful – Responsible women; families of “5 no, 3 clean" associated with new rural construction and urban civilization ... Thanks to the dissemination, every female cadre, member has been aware of the purpose, meaning, content of the learning and following Uncle Ho, thereby, creating a major change in consciousness and behaviors in forming lifestyle, virtues, working, learning and building happy family…

To practical models

Good deeds have spread to other localities. Thus, after 5 years, provincial WU has developed creative models, which have received active responses from female members. Some typical models are: “Yellow saving book” (Ben Cat Town, Bau Bang District); “Giving strength to go to school”; "Mounting love" (Di An Town, Thuan An Town); “Each person contributes a book to read many books" (Phu Giao district); “North Tan Uyen women to practice thrift”…

Besides, localities and units has many effective practices: encouraging households to hang Uncle Ho’s picture (TDM City, Di An Town); provincial WU mobilized benefactor’s contributions to build up 248 new and rapaired 33 “compassionate houses” worth totally VND9.205 billion; mobilized 2,466 scholarships worth VND1.223 billion; the movement of “Women help each other to start up home-based business without interest”, “Helping poor women to have an address"; “Saving for Poor Women" ... with total donation of over VND80 billion.

Many examples of "Good People, Good Deeds" have emerged in the construction of cultural quarters, hamlets, and participation in patriotic emulation movement, compassionate movements. Somes individuals sacrificed personal interests for common benefits, like: land donation for road construction, contributions to social activities, new rural construction… have contributed to enhance the learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Chairwoman of provincial WU, said the movement of learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh was identified as a regular and main task. However, the implementation of Directive 03 still has some difficulties, like: limited communication skills of grassroots cadres; the dissemination among female workers is still difficult... Provincial WU hoped to get more unification, leadership attention and guidance of Party committee…

At the meeting to review 5 implementation years of Directive 03-CT/TW of the Politburo on " To keep promoting the learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh", provincial Women's Union awarded certificates of merit to 31 individuals and 9 collectives having outstanding achievements in learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh.
