Update: 18-07-2011 | 00:00:00

After provincial People’s Committee has issued a plan on market price stabilization for essential commodities till March 31, 2012, provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) has cooperated with relevant agencies and localities to implement many activities to ensure the demand and supply of some essential commodities for the local people’s demand for production and consumption…

 Bringing commodities to countryside

As planned, the province’s price stabilization program valued at VND608bln will last until March 31, 2012 with 3 main groups of commodities (including food; medicine; books, office equipment..) at prices 10 percent lower than prevailing market rates. So far, the province has spent VND13bln on the program or 10.5% of the projection.

Co.op Mart Binh Duong has actively participated in the price stabilization program

Vo Van Cu, director of provincial DoIT said that provincial DoIT has teamed up with relevant agencies to instruct businesses to ensure the supply of commodities, especially essential ones at the local people’s demand for production and consumption. The distribution system for commodities under the prize stabilization program has also been organized by many forms, creating favorable conditions for the local people to get access to this program.

Also according to Mr.Cu, as of mid-July, 2011, the whole province has 83 outlets under the prize stabilization program, mostly in Tan Uyen, Ben Cat districts and Di An town. In addition to supermarkets, commodities under the price stabilization program have also been bought in the rural regions and industrial parks of the province.

Becamex Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Co. has been assigned to supply medicine for 70 agents and 7 drugstores in the province. Whilst, Binh Duong Book-Educational Equipment Joint Stock Co. has been responsible for supplying textbooks, notebooks, learning tools at prices 10 percent lower than prevailing market rates.

 Boosting dissemination, monitoring

According to Mr.Cu, relevant agencies and units need to boost dissemination of information about the prize stabilization program via mass media, creating favorable conditions for the local people to get access to price-stabilized goods…

The local functional agencies will also strength monitoring over the trading of price-stabilized goods; make market inspections on price and commodities, especially price-stabilized ones to avoid the speculation and hoarding of goods for price increase.... This is also one of the main tasks provincial People’s Committee has asked for relevant agencies to realize in the second half of the year…
