Update: 14-03-2011 | 00:00:00

One of the significant events of the national Buddhism Propagation Seminar 2011 was the requiem ceremony themed “Lighting up candle for gratefulness” held at local Martyr’s Cemetery.

At the requiem ceremony.

Attending the requiem ceremony, martyrs’ relatives were very happy and moved. “This is the first time there is a significant program”, Nguyen Thai Duong in Thuan An town said. Duong’s husband and children are martyrs buried at the cemetery. “Thank you Party and State for the requiem ceremony for our relatives”, said she.

Nearly 6,000 people took candles to place on tombs at the cemetery. A Buddhist believer in Phu Giao district said “We pray for the salvation of martyrs’ soul”.

The candles showed a humanitarian significance of Vietnamese people tradition. They were also symbol of gratefulness for martyrs.
