Update: 07-11-2022 | 13:23:25

Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of Provincial Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said that currently, the number of workers, whose work contracts were suspended without receiving wages through the provincial social insurance channel, is about 28,000; and out of a total of 800,000 trade union members, there are about 240,000 employees affected by the reduction of working hours. However, 240,000 employees have their working hours cut for no more than 14 days according to the Labour Law, so they are still on the payroll and have their social insurance premiums paid. Industries that are heavily affected are textiles, wood, footwear, electronics...

As employees come to settle unemployment insurance, they will be consulted by Job Centre about vocational training, receive assistance in finding new jobs and overcoming the current difficult period.

The Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs set out some solutions to find jobs for workers and help them overcome difficulties. Through the system of job introduction centres, when unemployment insurance beneficiaries arrive, the centres will introduce, offer advice on vocational training, jobs, and unemployment insurance policies to employees. Vocational training is financed by unemployment insurance fund.

According to Pham Van Tuyen further information, it is expected that in mid-November, the Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs will organize a conference to connect labour supply and demand, thereby inviting businesses, industry associations as well as relevant competent agencies, and some job introduction centres outside the province to take part in this conference. The purpose of the conference is to create better conditions for connecting labour supply and demand. In addition, the Government is about to issue a thematic resolution on labour market development. After this resolution is issued, the department will advise the Provincial People's Committee on an implementation plan of this resolution.
