Customer Right Protection Law should be early gone into life

Update: 28-11-2011 | 00:00:00

Nguyen Van Ban, chairman of the provincial Society of Customer Right Protection, said food safety and petrol are 2 fields showing highest violations of customer rights. Meanwhile, a few customers asked the society to protect their rights.

Ban added that the society has perfected its operation at all levels. The society has so far had over 3,000 individual members and 10 collective members who are prestigious producers. Therefore, the society has solved customers’ complaints timely and cooperated with businesses to solve violations on time.

In the first 9 months of this year, the society in cooperation with the provincial Market Management Bureau inspected 386 violations with the total fine of nearly VND700mil. The society in coordination with the local Bureau of Food Safety and Hygiene checked over 13,000 food processing facilities and so on.

To help the law go into life, the society has spurred promulgations across province. As a result, customers’ awareness has been improved sharply.
