Di An parish actively contributes to social welfare work

Under the motto of "good life, good religion”, over the past years, Di An parish in Di An city’s Di An ward has regularly coordinated with the city’s Fatherland Front Committee to organize many activities to participate in ensuring the local social security work.

Accordingly, Di An parish has just propagandized and mobilized parishioners, relatives and donors to support money and materials to organize the implementation of the "zero-dong” supermarket program in the parish. The program will be maintained regularly until December 2023. The supermarket opens from 8 am to 10 am on Saturdays with over 20 essential items for sale. Through the Working Committees of the Front of quarters in Di An ward, households in the area with difficult circumstances are considered and issued books to buy goods. On average, the parish issues from 60 to 80 shopping books to the poor every month. Each household will be able to buy goods up to 2 times per month with the amount of VND 150,000 per shopping time.

Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Chairwoman of Di An ward’s Fatherland Front Committee said that Di An parish and Catholic followers in the ward have actively implemented the local social welfare work. Hopefully, in the coming time, the parish and Catholic followers in the area will further promote and spread good and practical deeds, contributing to the local development.
