Di An district will try to turn it into a city of class III with prosperity and civilization in the next five years. To achieve the target, the district will strive to maintain annual growth at 16%; reach the average income per capital of more than VND68mln a year; have more than 80% of socio-technical infrastructure invested perfectly.

 

Encouraging development of clean industry

 

Di An district has put forward concrete measures to well realize the targets approved by its 10th Party congress. Particularly, the district will bend on dealing with queries and obstacles to soon perfect infrastructure for the remaining industrial parks; give priority to promoting the development of clean industry; put an end to business development outside industrial parks…

 

In terms of trade-service field, Di An district will raise its total sales of retail goods and services to more than VND34trillion. The district will also create favorable conditions for investors to make investment in value-added trade and service forms of finance, banking, supermarket, plaza…

 

Regarding agriculture and rural development, Di An district will re-check and reset reasonable development planning for each administrative unit at communal level; step by step shift its agricultural structure towards the growth of services; upgrade its canal system to maintain agricultural production value…

 

Di An district has also mapped out measures to spend reasonable land funds on investing in fields of education, culture, traffic-urban rejuvenation…; well manage the local soil and stone exploitation; strengthen inspection and punishment over cases causing environmental pollution…

 

Developing Di An into a city of class III

 

To achieve the target, Di An district has attached special importance to the task of planning and developing infrastructure and urban rejuvenation. The district has mobilized investment from different capital sources to develop infrastructure in a synchronous way and worked out key works, including the resettlement areas of An Binh and Tan Binh; the administrative centers of Binh Thang ward and two newly-established wards…

 

Between 2010 and 2015, Di An district will further perfect two urban areas Thong Nhat and Tan Long that are now under rejuvenation; strive to have 80%-90% of district-level roads upgraded in a synchronous way, more than 70% of ward-level roads and more than 90% of alleys in the district’s inner area paved with asphalt and concrete, more than 60% people getting access to internet…The district will also pay more attention to socio-cultural fields, raising the intellectual standards of the local people and ensuring their health.

 

Tran Quoc Binh, Secretary of Di An district’s Party Committee affirmed that Di An district will uphold its potentialities and strong points to promote industrial development and create a breakthrough in trade-service field, strength sci-tech application in economic production towards sustainable development. To obtain the above-mentioned targets, Di An district will put focus on developing urban and technical infrastructure in a synchronous way under its overall development plan.
