Despite narrowness of production land area of agricultural industry, orientation and support of functional agencies and localities bravely build many effective models of agriculture on small area.
Developing plants and species properly
In the recent years, urban agriculture in Binh Duong continues to develop with the area of 113ha. In order to economic efficiency on small agricultural area, farmers in localities flexibly choose plants and species in conformity with sub-areas and simultaneously apply technique to improve capacity and efficiency of area.
As for farmer families investing in vegetable growing model in green houses, they enjoy a great capacity of 2-2.5tons/1,000sqm per crop, a two-fold increase compared traditional method wih an average profit of about VND30mil per 1,000sqm per year. Meanwhile, flower growing farmers also enjoy a remarkable results. Specifically, model of growing Mokara orchid reaches an average profit of over VND25mil per 100sqm and other effective models.
Starting orchid growing in the recent 2 years, Pham Thi Hong Yen in An Son commune, Thuan An town enjoys a stable income. In the recent days, Nguyen Huu Cuong in An Son commune, Thuan An town bravely invests in model of breeding eal. After 6 months of breeding about 100kg of breeding eals, he enjoys more than VND200mil in profit. In addition, he breeds other animals to increase income.
In 2015, the local administration strives to reach an increas of 4% of agricultural production value from the past year. With determination of the local agriculture industry and farmers, efficiency of agricultural production model will contribute to increase agricultural production value sustainably.
