There are numerous poor families in a remote commune of Minh Hoa in Dau Tieng district. And, poor families herein can not afford to send their children to schools. However, with confidence and energy, two brothers of Nguyen Minh Duong and Nguyen Thi Anh Hong in Minh Hoa commune’s Hoa Hiep hamlet have overcome difficult circumstance to reach good academic results in many consecutive years.

 

 Duong and Hong are studying in their dilapidated house. 

  In this school year, two brothers of Duong and Hong are 5th graders of Minh Hoa primary school. At the age of 14-15, they should have been 8th graders. However, their parents are too poor to send their children to school. Knowing about difficulty of family, they have helped their parents do housework or work as workers to earn more money.

Hong’s teacher said she is very proud of their academic achievements, despite of difficult life.

Duong and Hong are good pupils for 5 consecutive years. Aside from study, they have helped their classmates reach good academic achievements and joined in sport movements launched by the school.

Asked about their wish, they said that they wish to be good pupils to please their parents and to help their parents escape poverty.
