Enhancing Road Traffic Law universalization at schools

In recent years, Di An town Education and Training Bureau has implemented many programs to ensure traffic safety for pupils. As a result, traffic condition in front of schools has changed positively.

Dissemination of traffic safety knowledge among pupils

Many activities have been implemented, such as: developing Traffic Safety Committee at schools, encouraging adherence to traffic safety, integrating traffic safety into emulation movements, subjects at schools…  

To schools located along crowded highways, school managing boards have educated pupils not to gather, buy foods sold in front of school gates, guided pupils across roads, instructed pupils to walk on road corridors, not to encroach pavements…

In addition, schools have controlled and inspected on motorcycle riding of pupils, prohibited pupils from motorcycle riding under insufficient conditions, encouraged pupils to wear helmet as riding motorcycle. Many schools have also formed traffic safety squads to handle violations in front of school gates…

Di An town Education and Training Bureau’s Head Mr. Tran Dang Nam said, these practical activities implemented by schools have helped pupils to be more aware of traffic culture, traffic safety and law compliance. These activities would be maintained and developed.

Reducing congestion in front of school gates

According to Mr. Tran Dang Nam, apart from propaganda and education on traffic safety, school principals have cooperated with police, the government, and unions to secure traffic safety and order, curtail congestion in front of school gates.

“School management boards are in charge of sidewalks around schools management, traffic control at peak hours. School principals are accountable for their pupils riding large motorcycles. Schools located on the same crowded highways have to arrange their schedule reasonably to solve congestion. This method has lessened congestion in front of the school gates at peak hours”, said Mr. Nam. 

"According to Education and Training Bureau’s plan, propaganda would contain many changes, namely, increasing information technology application into propaganda, arranging for pupils to observe trials to provide law knowledge, popularizing knowledge of traffic safety”, said Mr. Nam.
