Enlistment camping festival 2022: Glory of soldiers

Yesterday (February 15), localities in the province solemnly held the enlistment camping festival 2022 to encourage new recruits.

* Thu Dau Mot City: Worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers…

Thu Dau Mot city’s enlistment camping festival had the theme of "Deserving to be Uncle Ho's soldiers, proudly advancing under the Party’s flag". The sub-camps were decorated with the names of heroes such as Tran Binh Trong, Bui Ngoc Thu, Ho Van Men... As noted, although being set up with its own color, each unit had the common purpose of creating a joyful, emotional and meaningful atmosphere, leaving good impressions on new recruits. This year, the camping festival did not organize cultural-arts activities, folk games, due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic. But, it was very meaningful.

The camping festival was started with a ceremony welcoming new recruits at the Glory Bridge. With backpacks, hats..., from today, young people will become soldiers with many youth dreams and ambitions. In order to add solemnity while still ensuring safety in Covid-19 prevention and control, the organizers also honored outstanding young Party members and volunteers at each sub-camp. Che Hoang Tam, a typical young Party member in Phu Hoa ward shared: “I was really touched. I am more aware of the youth's responsibility to the Fatherland. I promise to train and study well to be worthy of my family's expectations. And after being discharged from the army, I will actively contribute to the local development."

Starting at 6pm, the camping festival also had many meaningful programs such as organizing the "Musical gifts" program, showing clips from the video clip design contest with the theme of "Being proud of young soldier".

*Thuan An city: Aspiration for dedication, reason for youth life

At the historical site of Thuan An Hoa War Zone, more than 200 new recruits gathered in sub-camps to be ready to set off for military service. Lieutenant Colonel Pham Quang Khoat, Deputy Head of Thuan An city’s Military Command said that the enlistment camping festival 2022 was organized shortly, but solemn and meaningful. The camping festival had an exchange activity with the theme of "Thuan An’s youth with aspiration for dedication, reason for youth life", in order to continue promoting the glorious tradition of the older generations who lived, fought for national independence, thereby educating the heroic tradition of the Vietnamese nation, the heroic Thuan An homeland and the Vietnam People's Army, raising awareness and pride, building a sense of responsibility among youth so that they are earger to set off for military service to perform  their sacred duty to the Fatherland.

Before gathering troops to the Thuan An Hoa War Zone relic, localities conducted quick Covid-19 testing for all new recruits, gave them gifts as encouragement before setting off for military service.

*Di An city: Animation with youth impetus

In the warm and exciting atmosphere on the first days of the Year of the Tiger 2022, Di An city held the  enlistment camping festival 2022 at the Ho Lang relic site in Tan Binh ward. As noted, the camping festival was carefully prepared by Di An city. 180 new recruits were excitedly prepared their luggage and said goodbye to their loved ones to join the army. Pham Dang Khoa in Tan Dong Hiep ward said that in mid 2021, Khoa graduated from Binh Duong University. When receiving the enlistment order, Khoa was very proud of that. “Inheriting the revolutionary tradition of my family, I always want to devote my youth to building and defending homeland. Joining the army this time, I will try my best to make a long-term contribution to the army."

Also just graduating from Binh Duong University, Pham Thanh Long in Di An ward said: "As young people, we have the responsibility to join the army to devote our youth to building the army and protecting the country. After graduating from university, I was accepted by a business in Di An city with the montly salary of nearly VND10million. However, I personally feel that I have the responsibility to the Fatherland, so I wrote a voluntary application to join the army this time…”. Coming to the sub-camps, other new recruits were also eager on the local enlistment day.

*Tan Uyen town: Inspiring young people to join the army

At the enlistment camping festival 2022, Tan Uyen town organized many activities to review the historical traditions of the Party, the nation and armed forces for new recruits, aming to create a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere among them before setting off for military service. Dang Duong Linh, a young Party member shared: “Putting aside my dream of becoming an engineer to join the army, I feel excited. It is the honor and pride for me to be able to put on a soldier's blue uniform."

On this occasion, provincial Youth Union also presented the certificates of merit to 3 outstanding Youth Union members. Chairman of the town’s People's Committee also awarded the certificates of merit to 8 young Party members, 15 outstanding Youth Union members who have volunteered to join the army and 3 typical families with children who have volunteered to join the army in 2022.

*Ben Cat town: New recruits excited to participate in camping activities

Ben Cat town’s enlisting camping festival 2022 was held at the Iron Triangle tunnel historical site in An Tay commune.

The camping festival included a series of exciting activities, including an incense offering ceremony at the Iron Triangle tunnel historic site, a talk show on historical traditions...At this year's camping festival, sub-camps from communes and wards in the town were invested in both form and content, showing love for homeland. Pham Nhat Hao, a new recruit from Thoi Hoa ward shared: “For me and other new recruits, today's moment is so precious. The activities of the camp have contributed to educating young people to practice their qualities, morality, solidarity towards the origin of the nation and arouse the spirit of readiness to perform their sacred tasks to the country…".

Tran Thi Thao, Vice-Chairwoman of Ben Cat town’s People's Committee said the enlisting camping festival was to encourage new recruits while educating them about patriotic traditions, sense of responsibility in national construction and defense; create favorable conditions for them to meet, exchange, and strengthen their faith and energy before setting off for military service.

*Bau Bang district: Traditional fire

In Bau Bang district, the enlistment camping festival 2022 to see off young men to join the army and defend the Fatherland was also organized with the theme of "Glory of soldiers". The camping festival took place with significant activities…Leaders of the district visited and encouraged new recruits. On this occasion, the organizers also held a birthday party for new recruits; honored young Party members and outstanding Youth Union members who have volunteered to set off for military service...

*North Tan Uyen district: "The Fatherland calls –Youths are ready"

The enlistment camping festival 2022 of North Tan Uyen district was held at War Zone D Memorial Area in Dat Cuoc commune with the theme of "The Fatherland Calls –Youths are ready". The sub-camps were decorated with symbols, showing the glorious image of the soldier. During the camping program, the organizers gave marks for sub-camp gates, Fatherland altars from sub-camps… In addition, there was also a ceremony to honor 9 young Party members who have completed their military service and returned to their localities; commend 4 Party members and 12 volunteers to join the army in 2022. Duong Chi Thanh, a young Party member in Thuong Tan commune said: “Born and grown up in a homeland full of revolutionary traditions, I am aware that performing military service is directly participating in, maintaining security-order and national defense. It is the sacred duty and also the duty of youth.”

For camping activities implemented to ensure safety in Covid-19 prevention and control, the district’s communes and township conducted Covid-19 vaccination and testing for young people before setting off for military service this year. The district’s military command coordinated with the local health center to inject the 3rd dose of Covid-19 vaccine for all new recruits. In addition, the district’s Miliary Service Council carried out the task of controlling the Covid-19 pandemic for relatives entering the camping area. Each new recruit was only allowed to invite 1-2 relatives to the camping area, minimizing the number of relatives gathering to ensure safety in Covid-19 prevention and control.

*Dau Tieng district: Unwavering faith in the Party

That was the theme of Dau Tieng district’s enlisting camping festival 2022 held at the local Culture, Sports and Radio Center. The camping festival was organized amid strengthening Covid-19 prevention and control, but still ensuring its meaning, purpose and requirements set forth.

Nguyen Thanh Tung, Vice-Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People's Committee said that the enlistment camping festival was organized to show the deep attention of the Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front and mass organizations at all levels to new recruits. The activities of the camping festival aimed to review and educate the heroic and glorious traditions of our army and people over revolutionary periods, the tradition of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, consolidating and arousing national pride and responsibility of the youth to the cause of national construction and defense.

At the camping festival, new recruits had exchanges with Youth Union members, bringing them an exciting atmosphere before setting off for miliary service. Before the camping festival, the district’s Military Command also sent open letters to the families of new recruits, aiming to strictly implement Covid-19 prevention and control.

*Phu Giao district: Warmness and affectionateness

Together with other localities in the province, Phu Giao district organized the enlistment camping festival 2022 to welcome new recruits. To ensure Covid-19 prevention and control, this year's camping festival was organized shortly, but still solemn and warm to encourage the spirit of the youth. At 2 p.m on February 15, 216 new recruits came to the sub-camps. At the enlisting camping festival, the organizers honored new recruits and families of typical young people.

Kieu Cong Danh in Phuoc Vinh town excitedly said: "This year, although the enlistment camping festival took place simply, I still feel it very warm and meaningful. I hope that my relatives believe each new recruit will have enough energy to train and complete assigned tasks excellently”.
