“Giving strength to school” scholarships awarded to 1,000 needy students

On the afternoon of August 29, provincial Department of Education and Training organized a program awarding “Giving strength to school” scholarships for the first period of the 2022-2023 school year to the local disadvantaged pupils.

The event was attended by Nguyen Xuan Liet, Head of the Local Department III under the Central Organization Commission; Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Truong Thi Bich Hanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Education.

At the ceremony, the organizers awarded 1,000 scholarships worth VND1million each and 1,000 gifts, including confectionary, milk and drinking water to the local disadvantaged students; handed over 100 sets of uniform, 200 backpacks, 3,250 books and 1,400 sets of textbooks to units and schools in order to give them for students. In addition, the education and training divisions of districts, towns and cities in the province supported gifts and scholarships for 949 students with a total amount of nearly VND 1 billion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ha said that the sharing and help of sponsors is a great encouragement for disadvantaged students to further pursue their learning. Hopefully, the province will further receive support from agencies, units, businesses and donors, giving more motivations for students to overcome difficulties, continue well studying and becoming useful citizens to the society in the coming time,
