Joining hands for the disabled

Protection and care for the disabled are seen as one of significant activities with a deep humanity value. This is also the good tradition of Vietnamese people. With such significance, Binh Duong has always paid attention to taking care of the disabled, giving strength to them so that they can be self-confident to make their dreams: Being lived, being worked and making contributions to the society like other normal people.

Giving strength to the disabled

Provincial Sponsoring Association for Disabled People-Orphans and Poor Patients (briefly called the Association) has always actively mobilized donors in and out of the province to offer help to the disabled and orphans, contributing to helping them improve their lives and creating favorable conditions for them to get involved in social activities. As of late 2013, the Association mobilized more than VND41bln in cash and gift, including the State budget.

Upon this fund, the Association offered more help to the disabled and orphans in accordance with the province’s programs. The Association and its affiliates spent more than VND39bln on supporting 379,847 needy cases; teamed up with relevant agencies to provide orthopedic surgery and medical devices for 6,447 disabled people with a total expense of VND5.7bln. After enjoying orthopedic surgery, many disabled children were able to go to school.

The Association over the past years granted wheelchairs for 1,767 disabled people with difficulties; awarded 2,780 scholarships worth more than VND5.5bln to poor disabled pupils, orphans with good academic results…

Upholding the spirit of “mutual love, mutual affection”

Under the spirit of “mutual love, mutual affection”, many collectives and individuals have actively made contributions to the Association via support programs such as building charity houses, providing free medical check-ups, medicine, eye surgery for poor patients, visiting and presenting them on Tet and great holidays…

Thanh Le General Import Export Trading Corp., Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Co., Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd., Binh Duong Building Material and Construction Joint Stock Co., Hung Thinh Joint Stock Co., Investment and Industrial Development Corp. (Becamex IDC), TDM city’s four Chinese boards, provincial Buddhist Sangha, Binh Duong Forestry Products And General Import Export Corp., province-based Taiwanese Business Association, Yazaki Eds Vietnam Co.Ltd., Procter And Gamble Vietnam Co.Ltd., provincial Businesswomen Association…were exemplary role-models in activities of supporting the disabled across the province.

Nguyen Van Nam, Chairman of the Association said that during the past 20 years, the Association has absorbed material and spiritual support of the community and enterprises for disabled people. The Association has aroused the local disabled people’s confidence and ability, helping them be more aware of their responsibility in order to rise up in life.
