In 2013, the sector launched effectively its functions and tasks in managing construction, urban technical infrastructure, housing and office. The work on basic construction planning met local demand on socio-economic development. In addition, the work on administration reform was seriously implemented, maintaining well system of quality management and so on.

However, the sector remained shortcomings of stagnancy of quality inspections of private works, confusion of stagnancy of setting up planning on new rural building, poor attention to water drainage, existence of illegal building and illegal land selling.

In 2014, the sector will accelerate the state management on areas of construction, planning, urban and housing technical infrastructure; spur administration reform and inspection on quality of works and land selling and so on.

Also at the conference, the department announced a decision of setting up and showing up the Construction Inspection delegation and publicized the establishment of legislation department. On this occasion, the department former director Tran Van Dung was awarded the third class Labor Order.
