Making use of games for gambling to be banned

Ministry of Information and Communication just issued Circular No. 24/2014/TT-BTT-TT guiding the management, supply, and use of online electronic game services.

Accordingly, importation, production, supply, advertising, and using of electronic game services containing graphics and sounds depicting homicide and brutal, horrified, torturing, and violence-triggering actions, the actions of human organ circumcision, games of graphics and sounds describing and triggering suicide, drug use, drinking, smoking, terrorizing, actions of ill-treatment, abuses of and human trafficking related to women and children are banned. Concurrently, advertisements, introduction, and supply of such electronic game services not approved in terms of contents and plot without notification of service supply.

The Circular also clarify the abuse of electronic game supply and abuse for gambling, cheating, illegal business or other legal breaches.

The Circular is valid for implementation from and on February 12, 2015.
