Many activities in response to Traffic Safety Month

During Traffic Safety Month of this year, provincial Youth Union has cooperated with localities and sectors to organize many activities to strengthen propaganda and raise awareness of traffic law compliance, especially for Youth Union members.

The image of young volunteers assisting traffic police in directing traffic at intersections has been familiar to people. This was one program regularly performed by provincial Youth Union, especially during Traffic Safety Month. Young volunteers also gave instructions to people in traffic to raise awareness of traffic law compliance.

In particular, provincial Youth Union also held a launching ceremony of Traffic Safety Month and Young Workers with Traffic Culture Festival 2015 in Di An town. The day attracted more than 500 youngsters to take part in many activities, such as: traffic safety parade, fashion show, photo exhibition on traffic accident, traffic safety idea contest, comics, A1 level motorcycle driving contest, quiz with prizes, cultural performances…

Pham Hong Thang, Deputy Secretary of provincial Youth Union said, performing peak activities during the month, the union had implemented many practical activities, such as: cooperating with provincial Traffic Safety Committee, agencies, units and enterprises to mobilize resources for the program; maintaining and developing the “Traffic Safety and Public Service" squad under provincial Young Volunteers through the project “Binh Duong young volunteers participate in preserving traffic safety and order in the province”…

Besides, the union directed its branches in localities to hold “The youth with Traffic culture” in September; built up young volunteer squads for propaganda, traffic safety at communes, wards and towns; deployed the campaign The youth with Traffic culture”; arranged legal assistance activities of traffic safety; sponsored youth projects of traffic safety. Besides, provincial Youth Union mobilized contributions to offering free helmets to poor youngsters and life jackets to pupils in areas must use waterway transport to school.

To enhance propaganda of traffic law compliance, provincial Youth Union devised plans for activities to disseminating Law on Road Traffic, Law on Railways, Law on Inland Waterway Transport, focus on contents of preventing being drunk condition while driving; putting helmet on children while riding; form traffic culture among people…

According to Pham Hong Thang, provincial Youth Union will ontinue to implement the campaign “The youth with Traffic culture” among officials, union members, young people and children; encourage young people to behave in a cultured manner while participating in traffic, voluntarily abide by traffic laws; no smoking and littering on streets; avoid being drunk while driving and so on. The union has enhanced activities of youth models, projects of traffic safety, established new youth squads for traffic safety, given training of traffic skills to youngsters…
