Many enthusiastic ideas contributed to improving the responsibility of trade union officials

To implement Plan No. 182/KH-TLD dated March 24, 2022 of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on studying, amending, and supplementing the Charter of Vietnam Trade Union for the term 2023-2028, Binh Duong Provincial Labor Confederation has held a workshop to collect opinions on research, amendment, and supplementation of the Charter of Vietnam Trade Union.

The delegates had many opinions related to issues, such as: scope, subjects, conditions, order and procedures for joining the Vietnam Trade Union; rights of trade union members, especially the right to suspend activities and pay union dues when losing their jobs; the right to be exempted or reduced from trade union fees for trade unionists having extremely difficult circumstances; the right to continue as a union member without having to re-enter for trade union members who enjoy retirement benefits but continue to work under contracts...

Before that, right after the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued Guidance No. 82/HD-TLD dated April 3, 2023 to direct trade unions at all levels to hold conferences to collect opinions on research, amendment, and supplementation of the Charter of Vietnam Trade Union, Standing Committee of Provincial Labor Confederation urgently developed a plan to direct all levels of trade unions in the province; at the same time, establish an in-depth charter study group, direct five directly superior trade unions to organize seminars to collect opinions on the charter, ensure comprehensive coverage, promote the collective strength of union officials and members in the province as a scientific basis to develop the Vietnam Trade Union Charter, which is feasible and suitable for the workers' movement in the new situation.
