Meeting launched for election of delegates to National Assembly and all-level People’s Council

Attending the meeting was over 500 key officials who are members to steering board of Election Committee, all-level election committees and representatives of departments, boards, sectors, unions, and local arm forces. The election is projected for delegates to the 8th legislature of National Assembly delegation and all-level People’s Council.

 Addressing the meeting, Provincial People’s Committee Standing Deputy Secretary Vu Minh Sang, cum Chairman of Election Committee stressed on importance of all-in-one election in one day and called for great efforts and well preparation.

 At the meeting, documents involved were explicit including:

Politburo’s Directive No. 50-CT/TW on leadership to elect delegates to the 8th legislature NA delegation and all-level People’s Council in 2011-16 tenure;

The 12th tenure National Assembly Standing Committee’s Resolution No. 1081-NQ/UBTVQH12 on announcement of election day and Election Committee set-up;

Prime Minister’s Directive No. 192/CT-TTg on election organization;

Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee’s Directive No. 07-CT/TU on leadership of provincial election;

Provincial Party Committee’s Decision on setting up a steering board for election;

Provincial People’s Committee’s Directive NO. 05 on election implementation; and,

Provincial People’s Committee’s Decision No. 500 QD/UBND on setting up provincial Election Committee.

 The meeting has also facilitated guidelines on introduction of candidates, on human resources, and on election funding.

 The provincial Election Committee will launch election schedule and plans.

the election is expected to be carried out on May 22, 2011 through 4 stages including:

-       Stage 1: February 14 to March 15 – work is being completed for establishment and announcement of all-level Election Committee and first candidate negotiation.

-       Stage 2: March 15 to May 2 – second candidate negotiation preparing for third negotiation which is final to decide list of candidates.

-       Stage 3: May 2 to May 21 – preparation for election.

-       Stage 4: Carrying out election and reporting lesson learned.

Addressing the meeting, Provincial Party Committee Secretary Mai The Trung, cum head of steering board for election suggested that members of election committees should grasp contents launched to be more focused on direction.

in the same day’s afternoon, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has also opened a training course for over 200 officials in its membership on 6 major tasks for the upcoming election which is focused on negotiation and introduction of candidates.
