In 2021, the whole country was facing difficulties and challenges, especially the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic, which affected production business activities of enterprises, employment, income of workers. Therefore, the Party, State, National Assembly and Government made important decisions to support production business activities of enterprises and workers, such as a support package of VND 38,000 billion for employees and employees from Unemployment Insurance Fund, of which VND 30,000 billion was directly distributed to workers, VND 8,000 billion for businesses; continued to monitor actual needs arising to promptly support, reduce and extend taxes for businesses and will continue to support rent, electricity, water bills of workers.

Binh Duong province was one of the localities heavily affected by the Covid-19, production and business were halted, many workers were infected, their jobs were interrupted, income decreased, and many difficulties arose. With determination to protect the health and life of people, Binh Duong basically controlled the disease, achieved many good results of both fighting the pandemic and socio-economic development. On occasion of the Lunar New Year 2022, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue wished Binh Duong businesses and workers a happy new year, peace and new successes.

According to Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Confederation, in 2021, the fourth wave of Covid-19 broke out and caused many companies to suspend production and business activities to fight the pandemic, especially from June to September 2021. This greatly affected the employment, income and lives of workers. Specifically, during the peak of medical quarantine, nearly 15,000 businesses had to temporarily suspend operations, leading to about 780,000 workers having to stop working, suspend labor contracts, take unpaid leave, terminate labor contracts early, lose their jobs...

With the support of the State, trade unions have accompanied and stood side by side with workers to overcome difficulties, such as providing food, money for union members, workers who were F0, F1, F2 or dead patients due to Covid-19; disadvantaged woman workers; supported and cared for orphaned children of union members and workers dying of Covid-19... Up to now, most workers in Binh Duong have overcome difficulties, stabilized their jobs and income. About 500,000 workers, including 23,950 workers having extremely difficult circumstances, will not return to their hometown but stay in Binh Duong through Tet holiday 2022.

Therefore, the Provincial Labor Confederation proposed and was supported by the Provincial People's Committee to give gifts to 23,950 workers, each gift worth 500,000 VND, with a total amount of 11 billion 975 million VND. The Provincial Trade Union is making every effort to take care of workers on Tet with a total expenditure of over 422 billion VND from trade union's accumulated financial sources, in which, Tet gifts were given to 639,000 union members and workers, each gift worth 300,000VND, with a total cost of over 191 billion VND; gave train tickets to union members and workers to return home and celebrate Tet; gave Tet gifts to disadvantaged workers suffering from labor accidents, dangerous diseases, affected by the Covid-19...

At the program "Tet reunion - Peaceful  Spring 2022", leaders of the Party and State gave 500 gifts to workers having difficult circumstances, serious illnesses or temporary difficulties due to the Covid-19, each the gift included 1 million VND and necessities.
