National fine art exhibition 2010 launched

The national fine art exhibition 2010 has been launched in Hanoi as an every five year opportunity for artists to show their talents.

 

Held every five year by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, the exhibition aims to introduce fine art circle and international friends new and valuable art works of the Vietnam’s contemporary fine art.

 

Vietnamese artists at home and abroad can send their works created from January 2006 to August 2010 in all genres from painting, graphic art, sculpture to installation art to the exhibition. The exhibition’s theme is free but reflection on the land and people of Vietnam during the national construction and defence, the renovation, industrialisation and modernisation is encouraged.

 

“The national fine art exhibition 2010 is a great event of the Vietnam fine arts circle as it reviews the five year creativity of graphic artists across the country,” said Head of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition Vi Kien Thanh at the launching this morning.

 

Around 700 works will be selected for the exhibition which is scheduled to be held at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts in Hanoi early December.

 

Photos of the art works can be sent to the Department of Fine Arts, photography and Exhibition, 38 Cao Ba Quat, Hanoi from August 15 to 25.

 

This year’s exhibition is one link in the chain of big festivals Vietnam is celebrating in 2010.
