Pervasion of environmental protection models

Provincial Youth Union has just continued implementing models on environmental protection for its branches to raise Youth Union members’ role and responsibility in the task of environmental protection.

Clean sideway, nice street corner

Provincial Youth Union has built up the “Clean sideway, nice street corner” model to effectively realize the “Binh Duong’s youth taking part in urban civilization construction” movement. Accordingly, its branches have executed the model with such criteria  as sideways, street corners without waste, illegal advertising boards, encroachment…They have also installed wastebaskets, regularly organized programs on environmental hygiene; propagandized and mobilized households, State agencies and businesses to get involved in activities of environmental protection and urban civilization construction.

Pham Hong Thang, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union said: “Provincial Youth Union will join hands with Di An town’s Youth Union branch to select 2 streets for pilot implementation of the “clean sideway, nice street corner” model at provincial level; support public advertising boards for the 2 streets and speed up propaganda activities about them. Other Youth Union branches need to set up the guidance of implementation of the model with contents in line with each locality’s real situation based on common criteria stipulated by provincial Youth Union. Each Youth Union also needs to sort out a street for pilot implementation of the model in 2015”.

Green office

Along with the “clean sideway, nice street corner” model, provincial Youth Union has promoted the “Green office” model among its branches with contents: without having a smoke, dropping litter, encroaching surrounding scenery; registration for growing flowers, green trees; clean-tidy working offices; baskets for waste classification, environmental hygiene and energy saving by concrete actions, creative models…

Mr.Thang also said: “Provincial Youth Union will team up with provincial Agencies Bloc’s Youth Union branch to sort out offices of 20 agencies at provincial Integrated Administration Center for pilot implementation of the “Green office” model; coordinate with relevant agencies to design stickers with energy saving slogans and provide them for units participating in the model…”

Other Youth Union branches will be also required to select at least 5 offices for pilot implementation of the model, contributing to enhancing work efficiency, minimizing costs arising from office activities, forming up a green-clean and nice image of State agencies and businesses.

Over the past time, provincial Youth Unions at all levels were very proactive in environmental protection with effective models, namely “green voluntary team”, “propaganda bicycle team”, “exchanging waste for gifts”, “green Binh Duong Avenue”…In the 2011-2015 period, provincial Youth Union was honorably awarded the certificate of merit of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment for its excellent achievements in the environmental protection cause.
