Promoting the spirit of innovation and creativity among Youth Union members

Under provincial People's Committee’s plan to promote science and technology activities on innovation in 2022, provincial Department of Science and Technology and Youth Union have coordinated to organize many useful activities, stimulating the spirit of creative start-up among Youth Union members.

Upholding creative ideas

To promote science and technology activities on innovation, provincial Department of Science and Technology, Youth Union have organized a series of meaningful programs for young people.  The 2022 contest "Creative start-up ideas" among youth started these programs. The contest took place with 3 rounds, including: the 1^st round with the theme "Youth with creative ideas", the 2^nd round  with the theme "Youth shining with creative ideas", the third round with the theme "Youth with start-up spirit" with the participation of 35 topics, projects, creative ideas and more than 70 contestants, groups of candidates. The entries belonged to many sectors, such as: food business model, tourism development model, agricultural product production model with new technology application, production business, services ...

Youth Union members participate in the provincial Youth Innovation Startup Festical 2022

At the contest "Creative start-up ideas", provincial Department of Science and Technology and Youth Union received media sponsorship for 8 projects. Of these, 3 projects have continued being sponsored by investors. With the theme "Promoting creative startup ideas for Binh Duong youth", through the contest, it contributed to launching and replicating the "Creative Binh Duong Youth" movement, promoting and supporting creative start-up activities among Youth Union members. Following the program, provincial Youth Union also organized the 7th provincial Youth Innovation Start-up Festival. Accordingly, in addition to organizing an exhibition on creative products of young people, the festival also held many meaningful activities, including the 2022 provincial "Young Creative" award; launching an online agricultural product trading floor; organizing a forum "Innovation start-up and skills for young people" and a program to provide sales knowledge for rural youth on an online platform applying digital technology...

Digital technology application

Following the Youth Innovation Startup Festival, provincial Youth Union continued coordinating with  provincial Department of Science and Technology, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize a conference to introduce business models and application of advanced science and technology, digital transformation in production for youth. The program attracted the participation of members of start-up clubs in the field of agriculture from the Youth Unions  of districts, towns and cities; members of start-up clubs of universities and colleges in the province, authors and groups of authors participating in the final round of the provincial "Creative start-up ideas" contest 2022.

At the program, experts from centers, departments, agencies, sectors, and business owners enthusiastically shared contents on application of high technology to agricultural production; some models of growing vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants in high-tech greenhouses; model of growing vegetables by vertical column aeroponics; e-commerce solutions; support policies for agriculture and hi-tech agriculture; policies to support loans for development investment and application of science and technology in production and business; practical experience in business development, advantages and disadvantages in high-tech mushroom production in urban areas; application of high technology in agricultural production…with Youth Union members.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen, a student of Thu Dau Mot University said: “Participating in a conference to introduce business models, application of science-technology advancements, digital transformation in production for young people, I had a chance to learn and grasp more about the knowledge needed to be prepared in building my own business model. This is a meaningful and necessary program for young people and students in innovative startup. In particular, business in the agricultural sector needs to understand more about hi-tech agriculture, modern machinery and equipment models, information on loan policies applicable to VietGAP business models...The program also helped connect young people and students with businesses, thereby creating a premise for learning and developing production and business in the future.

Thai Kien Thuan, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial Youth Union, Head of provincial Youth Union Movement Committee said that over the past years, the local startup movement had many great advantages, developed in the system of policies to encourage innovation activities in all fields. Startup is not necessary with great things. Sometimes, it only comes from the concerns and new ideas to solve daily problems. Even small business ideas are also valuable, showing the dynamism, creativity, and aspiration of the young generation.
