To gather and strengthen the great unity of the whole nation

During its operation, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has always affirmed its role as the centre of the great national unity bloc. On the 92nd anniversary of Vietnam National United Front, Binh Duong Newspaper interviewed Nguyen Van Loc, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, on the glorious tradition as well as the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front through periods.

-Sir, on the 92nd anniversary of the Vietnam National United Front, could you review milestones of the Vietnam Fatherland Front through historical periods?

- Stemming from President Ho Chi Minh's thought on great national unity, since the birth of our Party (3 February 1930), the National United Front of Vietnam (now the Vietnam Fatherland Front) was founded on 18 November 1930 and led by Vietnam Communist Party and President Ho Chi Minh. In difficult and challenging circumstances, the Fatherland Front always arouse and uphold the patriotism of the Vietnamese people and the overseas Vietnamese communities; gather and strengthen the whole national great unity to gain independence and freedom for the Fatherland and build a prosperous and happy life for the people.

Over many periods with different names, the Fatherland Front has constantly heightened the patriotism and tradition of Vietnamese national unity - a decisive factor in the victory for the national independence and unification, building and defending the Fatherland. It was the victory in the August Revolution 1945 that established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam associated with the glorious cause of the Viet Minh Front. Those were the historic Dien Bien Phu victory and the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign that ended 30 years of struggle for national liberation and national reunification.

From 1986 onwards, our country started the renewal, national construction, and development, set up remarkable achievements, especially since the 8th Central Resolution (11th term) on the strategy for national defence in the new situation, the issue of promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc for the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland, has received special attention from the Party and State, is regularly reinforced and enhanced.

Continuing and promoting the historical role of the Vietnam National United Front over the periods, the Vietnam Fatherland Front today advocates the patriotic tradition, national pride, self-reliance and self-reliance, unites all Vietnamese at home and abroad, regardless of social class, ethnicity, religion or belief, as long as they agree with the renewal process, aiming to protect the independence and unify the national sovereignty and territorial integrity, successfully realize the industrialization and modernization of the country for the goal of Rich people–strong nation–equitable, democratic and civilized society; implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's will: "Building a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam", actively contributing to the peace, democracy and social progress in the world...

- Building a great solidarity bloc has helped the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels effectively implement movements and campaigns, typically the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas”. Can you tell some outstanding results of this movement in the province in recent years?

- "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" has become a universal, comprehensive, pervasive movement, which is unanimously responded by the people.

To effectively deploy the movement, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has extensively disseminated the contents to all grassroots and residential areas. In order to develop the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" in combination with the movement "The whole province joins hands to build new rural areas and the project of mass mobilization for the forming of cultural - civilized lifestyle" in Binh Duong province 2021-2025, Standing Board of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee developed a plan to implement the project "Civil mobilization contributes to building a cultural and civilized lifestyle" in the provincial Fatherland Front system in 2022 and 2021-2025 period.

Besides, Standing Board of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee also coordinated with provincial Steering Committee for the new rural construction to implement a plan to train and instruct district-level Fatherland Fronts in collecting folks’ opinions and satisfaction level about the completion of new rural construction. Fatherland Front Committees of districts, towns and cities continued to guide establishments to step up the implementation of criteria for building new rural areas and microfinance.

Many units have flexible and effective forms of deployment in the movement implementation, such as: Dau Tieng district organized a writing contest for Front officers with the CV "All people unite to build new rural areas and micro-investments" for front officers in communes, towns, hamlets and neighbourhoods; Thu Dau Mot City issued a plan on the establishment and launch of a motorbike taxi group "For a civilized city" and deployed sectors to comment on the content of issuing leaflets to build the city "3 NOs", "4 GOODs”, “The exemplary citizen”; Ben Cat Town promulgated a plan to build a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle and launched 44 neighbourhoods and hamlets in the area to register for construction work in accordance with the conditions and needs of the people during the Festival. Great national unity in residential areas in 2022; Bac Tan Uyen district cooperates with the District Committee for Mass Mobilization to work with communes and towns on the establishment and organization of activities of 7 self-governing models in residential areas chaired and launched by the Fatherland Front, since then synthesize, evaluate, consolidate and improve the operation quality of the models and continue to organize the registration and implementation of 14 model residential models "Clean - green - beautiful" in the period 3 associated with the project of implementing the "Cultural - civilized" lifestyle in the period of 2021-2025...

- To continue promoting the role and position of the Fatherland Front at all levels, worthy of being the centre of great national solidarity, what key tasks has the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee set forth in the coming time, sir?

- As the centre of the great unity bloc, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province will continue to promote propaganda and grasp the ideology and viewpoint of great national unity of President Ho Chi Minh and the resolution of the National Assembly. decide Party congresses at all levels to the people. Determining that building a great national unity block is the task of the whole political system, the Fatherland Front, and its member organizations, to continue diversifying forms of gathering and mobilizing the people through emulation movements; continue to promote the role of dignitaries, religious officers and people with prestige in the community to build great solidarity.

In particular, the Fatherland Front must well perform its role and responsibility to represent the people's mastery, organize effective social supervision and criticism; closely coordinate with authorities at all levels to care for and protect the interests of the people; strongly promote the core role of the Fatherland Front and its member organizations in building great solidarity; improving the quality and efficiency of the stadiums, emulation movements, creating a favourable environment and conditions for the people to practice democracy...
