Binh Duong has effectively implemented the “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign. Accordingly, people have step by step changed their awareness of using Vietnamese goods. Domestic enterprises have also raised their responsibility in market expansion, production and supply of hi-quality products for customers.
Propaganda promoted
In 2015, provincial Fatherland Front Committee has mapped out a specific plan on implementation of the “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign.
Accordingly, provincial Steering Board of the campaign will team up with relevant units to organize talk shows and seminars. Meetings between the Steering Board, enterprises and customers will be also held to well realize targets of the campaign. In addition, the Steering Board will kick off trade fairs, exhibitions on outstanding Vietnamese goods, “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” market-days, mobile goods-selling points…
In the coming time, according to Huynh Van Nhi, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee cum Head of provincial Steering Board of the campaign, the Steering Board will continue speeding up propaganda work; thoroughly grasp 4 tasks and measures to implement the campaign under the spirit of the announcement of the Politburo’s conclusion No.264-TB/TW, the Prime Minister’s Directive No.24/CT-TTg. The Steering Board will also mobilize State agencies to purchase and use Vietnamese goods…
To Trinh Thi Mai Han, Deputy Director of Co.opmart Binh Duong supermarket in TDM city, the supermarket’s program named “Being proud of Vietnamese goods” is held annually on September. The rate of Vietnamese goods at Co.opmarket supermarket chain now amounts to more than 90%. And Binh Duong-based Co.opmart supermarket has become one of key units in realizing the instructions of provincial People’s Committee on market management, price stabilization, contributing to well implementing policies on social welfare.
Excelling at trade promotion
In 2014, the Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information under provincial Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the People’s Committees, the Divisions of Economics of districts, towns and TDM city to organize 15 “bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside” market-days with total revenue of more than VND9bln. On average, each market-day absorbed around 48-58 booths. This year, the center is expected to organize 10 “bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside” programs, mostly in districts and towns in the northern region of the province, industrial parks and compounds.
The Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information also held delegations to attend the 31st ASEAN furniture expo in Singapore and the IMM expo in Germany. Through the above programs, enterprises signed contracts valued at more than US$810,000 while understanding clients’ taste to be able to design more suitable products for export.
Nguyen Thi Tuyet Trinh, Director of the Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information said that the province’s recent trade promotion activities abroad have reached good results. Goods on display at foreign trade fairs were handicraft and fine art items-main products of Binh Duong. Hence, enterprises considered this as a great opportunity to make market surveys, seek distribution systems and create hallmarks for them when getting access and bringing their products abroad.
It is expected that the center will forward a program on surveying and learning experience in Japanese and South Korean markets with the participation of 20 enterprises.
According to experts, the province needs to put focus on domestic market development; promote distribution systems by domestic enterprises to well realize “bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside” programs. The province also needs to fully tap the local potentials to foster production of domestic goods with international productivity, quality and competitiveness raised.
