Province marks 17th anniversary of International Day for Cooperatives

Provincial Cooperative Alliance, on July 1, held a ceremony to mark the 89th anniversary of the International Cooperative Alliance and the 17th anniversary of the International Day for Cooperatives and a meeting to partially sum up its activities in the first half of the year.

The theme of this year’s International Day for Cooperatives is “Youth, the future of cooperative enterprise” with the goals of honoring cooperatives to successfully empower youth while calling for beneficiaries from them to boost youth’s participation in the cooperative movement…

So far, the whole province has developed 3,080 cooperative groups with nearly 56,000 members and 99 cooperatives absorbing 45,000 members with a total chaptered capital of more than VND160bln and a total operational capital of VND1.379trillion.

Despite difficulties caused by the global economic crisis, most cooperatives herein have worked effectively. In the first half of the year, their value of production, trading and services reached around VND980bln with the average income of VND1.2mln-VND2.5mln per laborer per month…
