Provincial Farmers’ Association, a reliable mainstay of farmers

Provincial Farmers’ Association and its branches have been proactive to improve their operational content and form. They have also strived to victoriously realize entrusted tasks and deserved to be a reliable mainstay of farmers.

Effectiveness from emulation movement

According to a report of the 9^th provincial Farmers’ Association congress for the 2018-2023 tenure just held, emulation movements of the association have made great contributions to the local cause of new rural construction.

Do Ngoc Huy, Chairman of provincial Farmers’ Association said that through the emulation movement of “good farmer in production and business”, many outstanding farmers and effective models were discovered, contributing to the local socio-economic development. The association also mobilized well-off farmers, fertilizer companies to give support in terms of agricultural materials, nurslings, breeding animals…for needy members.

During the 2013-2018 period, there were 25,749 farming households winning the title of “good farmer” at all levels. Many farming households surmounted difficulties to become owners of the farmsteads, cooperatives, cooperative groups, develop new models on cultivation and animal husbandry…

Provincial Farmers’ Association and its branches also promoted a program on civilized urban and new rural construction. Especially, under the campaign of “All people consolidate to build civilized urban and new rural areas”, they concentrated on disseminating the Party and State’s policies, guidelines and laws among officials, members via meetings; mobilized members to make contributive ideas to new rural construction, directly take part in realizing criteria of agriculture, rural development and farmers, thereby promoting the local rural image.

Companion of farmers

Along with new changes in the local socio-economic development process, provincial Farmers’ Association has been very flexible in setting up new models with products at market’s demand. The association has also given support in terms of loan, sci-tech and trademark building for farmers, helping them develop many effective models. As of mid-2018, provincial Support Fund for Farmers amounted to VND127.175billion, providing loans for 4,331 farmers to develop 299 projects, set up 299 linkage groups, over 100 of which have worked very effectively. These linkage groups generated jobs for many laborers; considerably increased income for farmers with the annual average level of hundreds of millions of dong.

According to Nguyen Thi Tuyet Nhung, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial Farmers’ Association, Director of provincial Support Fund for Farmers, supporting loans for farmers to foster models from the fund is a practical deed. The fund has actually become a mainstay for farmers, helping remarkably improve their spiritual and material lives, contributing to making the shift of plants and animals under the province’s orientation and promoting collective economic models in the rural region.

Apart from loan support, provincial Farmers’ Association has been proactive to closely coordinate with relevant agencies to organize training courses on cultivation and animal husbandry for farmers while guiding them about collective economic forms in agricultural production. As a result, the association realized more than 300 effective support models for farmers; fostered more than 269 collective economic models, more than 100 of which are in effective operation during the 2013-2018 period…

With the above results, the association has actually become a reliable mainstay of farmers, contributing to the local socio-economic development. At the congress, the Central Committee of Vietnam Farmers’ Association also awarded the emulation banner for the best unit in the period of 2013-2018 to provincial Farmers’ Association. Besides, there were 377 individuals awarded the mementoes of “For the cause of Vietnamese peasantry”; 12 good farmers with the certificates of merit of the Prime Minister; 238 good farmers with the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee…
