Provincial leaders visit, offer Tet gifts to disadvantaged people

On December 28, provincial Red Cross Association coordinated with its branches in districts, towns and cities to simultaneously organize the "Tet of kindness" program 2023.

In Thu Dau Mot City, on the afternoon of December 28, the "Tet of kindness” program 2023 was attended by Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly deputy delegation.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Loi said that the organization of the "Tet of kindness" program 2023 was a very practical and humane activity. He highly appreciated the efforts by provincial Red Cross Associations at all levels, relevant departments, agencies and donors in preparing meaningful Tet gifts for people with difficult circumstances. He also wanted all-level authorities, sectors, businesses, donors and people to join hands with provincial Party Committee and government to carry out many activities to help disadvantaged people overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and welcome a joyful and warm Tet.

At the event, 496 poor households, blind people, victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, children whose father or mother died, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, workers with difficult circumstances were given gifts worth VND 2.2 million and above each. The total value of these gifts is nearly VND 1.2 billion.

The program gave 492 Tet gifts worth more than VND1.2billion for disadvantaged households, visually impaired people, Agent Orange victims and orphans whose father or mother died, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Next, Mr. Thao and members of the delegation visited and donated gifts to two children who lost their fathers, due to the Covid-19 pandemic in Lai Thieu ward.

*In Ben Cat town, the "Tet of kindness" program 2023 was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

The program gave 357 gifts for disadvantaged workers, the blind, the poor, Agent Orange/dioxin victims, children whose father or mother died, due to the Covid-19 pandemic with a total value of VND 600 million while offering hundreds of free health checkup vouchers to the local people.

On this occasion, the delegation visited, donated gifts and VND 12 million in cash, sponsored by a business, to the family of Trinh Trung Hau and Trinh Thi Hai Nhu in An Tay commune’s An Thanh hamlet in Ben Cat town. Their mother passed away, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

*In Dau Tieng district, the program gave gifts and cash for 387 people with difficult circumstances, including 200 poor households, 99 blind people, 84 victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, 4 children whose father or mother died, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Each gift is worth between VND2.2 million and VND 2.7 million. The total value of these gifts is VND 958 million.

*In Phu Giao district, the program gave gifts for 200 poor people, 9 orphans whose father or mother died due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 150 victims of Agent Orange… The total value of these gifts is more than VND950 million. Provincial leaders visited and gave gifts for relatives of Nguyen Thi Huyen in Le Trang hamlet’s group 2 in Vinh Hoa commune. The woman died of the Covid-19 pandemic.

*Meanwhile, in North Tan Uyen district, the "Tet of kindness" program 2023 gave gifts for 301 poor households, the blind, victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, children whose father or mother died, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The total value of these gifts is nearly VND 650 million. On this occasion, the program gave free medical examination vouchers for targeted people at Medic Binh Duong Hospital.

*In Bau Bang district, the program gave Tet gifts for 295 poor households, blind people, victims of Agent Orange and orphans, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

On this occasion, Binh Duong Medic General Hospital gave free medical examination vouchers worth VND 700,000 each for recipients. The total value of these gift is nearly VND 680 million.

*In Tan Uyen town, the program gave gifts to 347 poor households, people in difficult circumstances, blind people, Agent Orange/dioxin victims and children whose father or mother died due to the Covid-19 pandemic with a total value of nearly VND 834 million, together with free medical examination vouchers for the targeted people.

*In Di An city, the "Tet of kindness" program 2023 offered 503 gifts to poor households, blind people, victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, children whose father or mother died due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with a total value of VND 1.1 billion.

It is known that with the support of provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Becamex IDC, provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Social Charity Board, Red Cross Society, donors in collaboration with the Red Cross Societies of districts, towns and cities to organize the "Tet of kindness" program 2023 with gifts worth  over VND 8.3 billion given for 3,610 poor households.
