Provincial People’s Committee demands for ensuring food safety and hygiene in streetside stalls

So as to control safety and hygiene of foods in streetside stalls, Provincial People’s Committee just issued Directive No. 12 on improvement of food safety in foodstalls across the province. The Directive is effective from and on August 23, requiring the owners of foodstalls to inform of their food safety and hygiene assurance in the localities and sign commitments with ward and town people’s committees to sell foods of safety and hygiene standards.As a result, involved departments and agencies would coordinate with Department of Health to inspect and check up management of food safety and hygienein in markets, supermarkets, commercial centers, shops, and stalls.Local authorities are required to launch measures to ensure food safety and hygiene in streetside foodstalls as well as to allocate managing levels across districts, towns, and the city to complete planning of streetside stalls by 2013.Reported by Cam Ly – Translated by Vi Bao
