To care for the poor and disadvantaged households, Fatherland Front at all levels actively do many practical activities

Tan Quy quarter (Dong Hoa ward, Di An city) is known by many people as a locality that does a good job of supporting people having difficult circumstances. For many years, Tan Quy neighborhood has maintained the distribution of 40 gifts to 40 households every month. Those gifts express the spirit of solidarity and mutual love, and the wish to better take care of disadvantaged households.

Pham Ngoc Duc Thang, Head of Tan Quy quarter’s Executive Board, said: “As usual, we take care of locals every month, but taking care of the poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households, helping them welcome a fuller New Year shows not only our affection and attention but also a responsibility. Every year, as the spring comes, the quarter gives more than 100 gifts, thanks to the cooperation and contribution of businesses and people from all walks of life in the area".

In Hoa Phu ward (Thu Dau Mot city), as helping the poor be motivated to improve their lives, every time when New Year comes, supporting activities for the poor are done by local authorities, especially the Fatherland Front. Meaningful gifts are delivered to brought joy to poor people in the traditional Lunar New Year.

Nguyen Hoang Yen, Chairwoman of Hoa Phu ward’s Fatherland Front Committee, said: “In order to take better care of the poor, Fatherland Front Committee of the ward will coordinate with businesses to give 30 gifts to poor, near-poor households, and people having difficult circumstances in the ward before the Lunar New Year.

The 2023 Lunar New Year is approaching, joining hands to help and take care of the poor households, policy families, and people living in hardship is a practical job that demonstrate the high sense of responsibility of all levels, branches and the whole society so that poor people could have a warm and meaningful new spring".

Similarly, in Thanh Hoa A quarter, An Thanh ward (Thuan An city), Nguyen Tu Thien, Head of the ward’s Fatherland Front Work Board, seems to be more busy at the end of the year. Because she and the local administration want to find resources to support poor people during the upcoming Lunar New Year.

This year, Thien and the local administration are trying to support 7 near-poor households and 40 disadvantaged households in their neighborhood. Thien said: “Caring for the poor, near-poor, disadvantaged people during the Tet festival is a sense of responsibility and shows the heart and affection of all levels, branches and the whole society to needy persons”.

In order to well prepare for Tet caring activities, all-level Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations are developing plans, actively mobilizing contributions from organizations, individuals, and allocating local budgets.

Together with the provincial Fatherland Front, member organizations have actively organized activities, such as givivng tens of thousands of gifts, monthly allowances, savings books, etc. to policy families, poor workers, union members, people with disabilities, Covid-19 orphans in the province.

These days, when the national traditional New Year is approaching, people and families are busy preparing for the spring festival, but to the poor and low-income people, spring is a worry, because their lives still have difficulties and deprivation. With the cooperation and contribution of the whole society, we hope to bring to the poor and disadvantaged people a happier, warmer and more meaningful Tet.

Carrying out activities to take care of the poor and promote welfare in the province, during the year, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and its branches raised Fund for the Poor and developed social welfare program worth over VND649 billion. Namely, the Fund for the Poor at three levels received nearly 18 billion VND; agencies, units, organizations, individuals and businesses directly supported social welfare programs worth over VND631 billion. From resources, like: Fund for the Poor, Relief Fund, and welfare programs, Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have carried out activities to support the poor, orphaned children...

Fatherland Front Committees at all levels coordinate with member organizations to actively create many capital sources to help members and people, i.e. more than 15,500 people with total support amount of over VND 476 billion, to develop production and business, alleviate poverty, overcome difficulties, and stabilize their lives; organize free medical examination and treatment, provide free medicine to policy families, poor households in the province (more than 23,000 people with total amount of over VND9 billion); awarded nearly 3,300 gifts and scholarships to poor studious students with total expenditure of VND3.4 billion; coordinated to build and repair 184 solidarity houses worth more than VND16 billion…
