Self-managing models on traffic safety bring efficiency

Update: 02-08-2012 | 00:00:00

In the first half of the year, the number of traffic accidents in the province reduced by 0.54% compared to the corresponding period of last year. This result was came from the efforts of the local sectors and agencies in the task of maintaining traffic order and safety. One of the important elements helping curb traffic accidents over the past time was the efficiency of many self-managing models on traffic safety.

Provincial Women’s Union has launched the model of “Women take part in realizing traffic safety” with the objectives of disseminating of information about laws and policies relating to traffic order and safety to members and giving guidance on implementation of them.

Barriers on the pavement of a street in Thuan An town’s Thuan Giao ward are voluntarily removed by the local people

So far, the model has been implemented across the province. Provincial Women’s Union has teamed up with provincial Board for Traffic Safety to organize 6 classes on the Road Traffic Law for small traders; implemented registration on “traffic safety” households among members…

One of the models on traffic safety highly appreciated over the past time was the model of “exemplary road” implemented by war veterans in the province. Four models of  “exemplary roads” managed by war veterans in Di An town brought high efficiency. Especially, the model of “exemplary road” in Di An ward received enthusiastic response from the local people.

To date, provincial Fatherland Front Committee has built 7 self-managing groups on traffic safety in Thuan An town’s Lai Thieu ward, Di An town’s Dong Hoa, TDM city’s Hiep An, Ben Cat district’s My Phuoc township, Phu Giao district’s Tan Hiep, Dau Tieng district’s Thanh An, Tan Uyen district’s Thai Hoa township with the participation of 700 families and further promoted many other traffic safety models.

At a recent meeting to partially sum up the task of traffic safety in the first half of the year, Nguyen Thanh Tai, chairman of TDM city’s People’s Committee said that there was a self-governing model on traffic safety in Tan An commune,  bringing high efficiency. The model gathered the local depraved youths and successfully converted them over the past time…

Along with intensifying patrols, inspections and strict punishment of law-breakers…, the province will further promote the above mentioned self-governing model on traffic safety in order to ensure the local traffic safety and order in the coming time.
