“Discus fish” Kiet is an informal name and the name also attaches to his career. Born in a farming family but Kiet’s will of making wealth always develops strongly. Before breeding discus fish, Kiet tried to breed turtle, but after that he in 2003 changed to raise discus fish, owing to its high profit.

Thanks to advices from good friends, Kiet has gradually accumulated experiences of breeding discus fish. Thus far, his discus fish farmstead has created an income of over VND1bil per year. A 9 month old discus fish is priced at over VND1mil while baby discus fish at several hundreds of thousands of VND.

Kiet said that he is lucky in breeding discus fish. Despite ups and downs, he is confident to enjoy profit in trading discus fish. Even in the current period his batches of discus fish have many orders.

  Discus fishes are full of colors.

However, his luckiness perhaps lies in professional, cleverness and prestige. With orders from remote localities such as Ha Noi and Hai Phong, he considers proper water quantity to ensure fishes’ health.

More than 10 years of involving in breeding discus fish, he affirms “The work requires patience”. This kind of fish can catch many diseases and is very difficult to raise them.

Aside from involving in economy, he is a member of Chanh Nghia ward farmer’s society. He was awarded a merit certificate for good farmers in production and business from the provincial People’s Committee in 2011.
