Taking good care of ethnic minority people’s lives

With the support policies, timely attention of the Party and the State, the lives of ethnic minority people in Phu Giao district have been improved constantly. The district now has no more poor ethnic minority households. Most of the local ethnic minority people have applied sci-tech advancements into production, step by step changing their backward farming habits.

Economic growth

Phu Giao district is now home to 825 ethnic minority households with 3,043 people. The district’s main ethnic minority groups are Chinese, Khmer, Nung, Tay, Cham, Muong, S’tieng, Chau Ro, Thai, San Diu, San Chi, Dao, Tho, Bana...

Tran Hong Dung, Vice-Chairwoman of Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee said that over the past five years, the lives of the local ethnic minority people were improved a lot. They mainly earned their living by farming doings with rubber, cashew, pepper...as main crop plants in line with the local soil conditions. Along with sci-tech advancements, the district well realized the Party and State’s ethnic policies via programs on vocational training, job introduction, credit support, healthcare...The lives of the local ethnic minority people was improved obviously, contributing to the local socio-economic development. The district also paid more attention to perfecting essential socio-economic infrastructure facilities in areas with ethnic minority people. So far, there have been 100% of communes and 100% of households in use of power grid and clean water. There are now no more poor ethnic minority households. Most of them have applied sci-tech advancements into production, step by step improving their backward farming habits.

Thanks to the attention of provincial People’s Committee, the district also opportunely conducted sectors, mass organizations to implement policies on land support for ethnic minority people in An Binh and Tam Lap communes over the past time. So far, there have been 112 households granted faming land with more than 116 hectares; 72 households granted land use right certificates and 40 others with relevant procedures underway....

It is known that thanks to sci-tech transfer, agricultural promotion well realized, the district’s cashew gardens in the 2019-2020 crop reached high yield. Along with resettlement, the district also attached special importance to making the shift of the plant and animal structure, encouraging the local ethnic minority people to rise up for legitimate wealth. In addition, the district paid attention to giving vocational training for the local ethnic minority people...

Spiritual life improved

Vo Van Loi, Chairman of An Binh communal People’s Committee said that the lives of the local ethnic minority people are now very stable. The whole commune is home to 230 ethnic minority households or 6.2% of total population. Along with the provinc’s ethnic policies, the commune has always supported the local ethnic minority people, making their lives be improved obviously.

Along with stable economy, the spiritual life of ethnic minority people across the district have also been enhanced. Cultural-sports exhange activities have contributed to enriching the spiritual life of the local ethnic minority people. Currently, they are active to practise civilized, cultural lifestyle and continue preserving their cultural identities. Especially, they always respond to movements on rural traffic development, urban rejuvenation; seriously observe the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies, laws...The district also coordinated with relevant units to make law dissemination among the local ethnic minority people over the past time.

In the coming time, the district will continue well realizing poverty reducation, job generation, sci-tech transfer, support in terms of capital, breeding animals, nurslings...for the local ethnic minority people. The district will boost State management and mobilize the local ethnic minority people to well realize the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws...
