*Thuong Tan high school marks 15^th founding anniversary and opens new academic year

Early April 9, Tan Phuoc Khanh high school in Tan Uyen town held a ceremony to mark its 50^th founding anniversary and open the new academic year, in attendance of Pham Van Canh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Council; Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

Tan Phuoc Khanh high schoool (previously called Chau Thanh high school) was established in 1966. Experiencing 50 years, with teachers’ dedication, the school trained many generations of pupils who have made contributions to the cause of national construction and defence. Following the fine tradition of previous generations, the school’s teachers today make efforts to train flexible and creative pupils at requirements of the new era. In the 2016-2017 academic year, the school had a total of 31classrooms with more than 1,000 pupils, including 14 good ones at provincial level. The school’s teachers will also try their best to be bright examples in morality, self-education and creation for pupils to follow.

On this occasion, the school was awarded a laudatory writing with words: “Flexible, creative and proactive in integration” of provincial People’s Committee. The school’s study promotion fund also presented 15 scholarships worth VND1million each to poor-but-excellent pupils.

Over the past 15 years, the school surmounted difficulties and affirmed its education quality. The school has always been among the province’s top schools in the ratio of pupils with high school graduation in recent years. With achievements done, the school won the excellent title, the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee and the Prime Minister for many consecutive years.

The school now has a total of 607 pupils. In the 2016-2017 academic year, the school will further improve teaching ways, make comprehensive education among pupils, prevent school violence; create favorable conditions for pupils to take part in movements to widen their knowledge; pay attention to training life skills for them…
