Most of them do not return home for Tet, so I stock more for sales,” said Hoa. As for Le Thanh Trung, a worker from Binh Phuoc living locally, he said: “My grandparents' house is close, only 2 hours by motorbike for me to return to the hometown. But in the face of this epidemic, it is best to actively prevent and limit travel. Returning home now might as well disturb relatives and neighbors.

At many other hostels in the province, Covid-19 prevention and control have also been done well. At Group 19, Binh Phu quarter, Binh Chuan ward, Thuan An city where many accommodation areas are available for workers, hostel owners have actively installed cameras from the entrance to monitor and foster Covid-19 prevention and control. Ha Van Dich, the owner of a hostel of nearly 100 rooms, said: “The whole hostel in these days is quiet. Neighborhood officials have repeatedly come to remind people not to gather as well as require them to wear masks on going out on the street, to wash their hands regularly, and to limit contacts with others. My family has installed surveillance cameras to prevent the epidemic since the beginning of the year. In the afternoon, it is also the time when people are out of work, through the camera system, if detecting someone gathered to chat, I immediately remind them not to. Whoever violates many times and does not strictly comply with the epidemic prevention regulations, I would immediately invite out of the hostel; that is the rule here.”

Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy, Chairwoman of People's Committee of Phu Hoa ward where a quarantine area of up to 1,800 households has been in place, said that in addition to efforts to perform duties in the quarantine area, the epidemic prevention stage in other quarters was also received. The prevention and control have been strictly done than ever. “We have directed the neighborhood departments and sectors of women, youths and veterans to regularly check and remind the hostel owners to remind their renters to wear masks, to limit close contact, and not to let strangers in. Residents are facing difficulties and the neighborhood officers keep a list of residents for the ward to mobilize help in the coming days.”

Dao Tuyet Lan, who has 5 years working for the company, said: “According to the process, after a few hours of working, we have to change to a new mask and disinfect our hands. During the working process, it is necessary to perform social distancing, not staying close to one another as usual. From the company to the hostels, it is necessary to strictly comply with the epidemic prevention stage.” In these days, Nguyen Van Dung, Chairman of the Tan Nhat Co. Ltd Trade Union and a number of company managers continuously monitor the situation and broadcast on loudspeakers to prevent the epidemic by reminding the workers to prevent and fight the epidemic. “We are working on building partitions in the cafeteria. Besides, we have called upon all workers to stay for Tet, not leaving the area. We are considering to keep on helping workers as well as maintaining our production operations even during the Tet holiday if the workers are in need,”said Dung.

Sharing the same thoughts with many other workers in Binh Duong, Ly Xuan Cuc, a worker of Ideal Co. Ltd. in Thuan An city, said that on getting to the company, she must strictly comply with disease prevention and control. Over the past days, seeing that the whole country and leaders in the province have been trying hard to "fight against the epidemics like against the enemy", so each employee must be responsible for his homeland where he is working. Managers often come to remind them during working hours. The slogan of "health protection in the company is to protect the health of yourself and your family" was posted on the social networking group by the company leaders. People are updated with information on epidemics every day, gradually raising their awareness of epidemic prevention and control.

At this time, the work of connecting Bluezone to trace the Covid-19 epidemic has been carried out synchronously by the authorities from all levels to the hostels. In cases that the employers does not have the funds to support or only partially support the implementation of disease prevention and control, the grassroots trade unions shall balance the available financial resources to purchase masks and hand sanitizers to help the workers.
