Traffic safety is the top priority in 2018

On January 24, provincial Department of Transportation (DoT) held a conference to review its activities in 2017 and implement tasks for 2018, in attendance of Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

Provincial DoT last year focused on realizing methods for traffic infrastructure development in a synchronous way. Besides, provincial DoT boosted the realization of the “Building traffic culture among youths” theme with a goal of “people’s life is first”. Upon this, the number of traffic accidents, dead and injured people last year decreased by 232, 9 and 284, respectively. Addressing the conference, Mr.Liem spoke highly of achievements done by provincial DoT while asking for the sector to ensure traffic safety, which is the top priority. The sector also needs to further boost administrative reform, strengthen planning and management over traffic infrastructure facilities in line with the local development requirements.
