Vietnamese ambassadors and consuls general abroad actively support Binh Duong to "take off"

Yesterday (January 23), nearly 20 Vietnamese ambassadors and consuls general abroad had a talk show in Binh Duong, openly exchanging with provincial leaders of Binh Duong province and other localities in the Southeastern region about "long-term" plans to support investment promotion and attract foreign investment capital, helping these localities further "take off" in the spirit of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 24.

Openness and solidarity for integration

Receiving and working with Vietnamese ambassadors and consuls general abroad, Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee discussed openly and emphasized the strengths of Binh Duong. He thanked the Vietnamese ambassadors and consuls general abroad for supporting Binh Duong in promoting trade to countries around the world during the past time while highlighting outstanding features in investment attraction, foreign affairs and emphasizing that Binh Duong has always expanded cooperative relations and economic development with countries around the world. Therefore, he hoped that Vietnamese ambassadors and consulates general abroad will actively support Binh Duong in promoting trade and investment, especially in the markets of Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, European and American countries.

Representatives of provinces, cities, industries’ associations and enterprises in the Southeastern region proposed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese ambassadors and consulates general abroad to continue supporting, serving as a bridge to further strengthen relationships with localities, namely South Korea and Cuba, that have signed friendly cooperation agreements while supporting the promotion of economic, trade, cultural and educational cooperation with Cuban hospitals and schools; promoting cooperation on smart cities with Eindhoven city in the Netherlands... Many opinions and recommendations from Vietnamese ambassadors and consulates general abroad helped localities in the region to further expand cooperation with other localities in the world, explore potential markets in Asia, Europe, America and Latin America; support them in connecting, joining and becoming active members of international organizations to learn from experience, cooperate with members and enhance international integration.

Speaking at the talk show, Vo Duc Trong, Permanent Vice-Chairman of Tay Ninh provincial People's Committee mentioned the local outstanding tourism features and hoped that ambassadors and consuls general would create favorable conditions for the local government and businesses to have the opportunity to cooperate with partners with strengths in different fields, with priority given to the fields of high technology, semiconductor chips, green energy, green economy, and circular economy..., contributing to creating a foundation and motivation on the way of integration.

Creating links to develop together

With a particularly important strategic location, the Politburo’s Resolution No.24 expects that by 2030, the Southeastern region will become a dynamic development region, with high economic growth, the largest growth driving force in the country. Therefore, at the talk show, localities in the region informed ambassadors and consuls general abroad for the 2024-2027 tenure of an overview of the potential, advantages and development orientations of each province and city.  After that, the parties exchanged with heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad about some shortcomings in connecting and sharing information.

Tran Phuoc Anh, Director of Ho Chi Minh city’s Department of Foreign Affairs said that in order to link development and integration, is it necessary for localities in the region to have a common group with ambassadors and consuls general abroad to promote information to foreign partners, helping them attract investment. Mai Phan Dung, Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations spoke highly of the meeting between localities in the Southeastern region and Vietnamese ambassadors and consuls general abroad. He also suggested that localities in the region need to be more proactive and active in promoting and expanding international cooperation. Vietnamese ambassadors and consuls general abroad always actively support these localities in investment promotion and FDI attraction. Mr.Dung emphasized that they need to to directly exchange information with each ambassador and consul general to open up new opportunities for cooperation, creating conditions for the local socio-economic development under the expectations of the Politburo’s Resolution No.24.
