Visiting ‘Hung Kings Commemoration Temple’ on Hung Kings’ death anniversary

‘Hung Kings Commemoration Temple’ is a main work of Hung Kings commemoration area under the Historical and Cultural Park in District 9, HCMC, covering a total area of 395ha, of which 27ha is located at Di An district, Binh Duong province. The work’s 1st phase was opened in 2009. The Commemorative Area is a symbol for people’s spirit returning to the national roots and is a sacred place for the public to show their respect and love for Hung kings.

 Hung Kings Commemoration Temple is divided into 3 grounds – ceremonial ground, festive ground and prayer ground. In the center of the ceremonial ground is to worship Hung kings’ ancestral tablets, Au Co Mother Goddess, Father Lac Long Quan and so on. Meanwhile, the prayer ground has 54 stone pillars, symbolizing 54 ethnic groups.

Bui Van Bong, 60, a staff taking care for worship area at the commemoration zone, said from 7 a.m to 5p.m, visitors can offer incenses to the Hung Kings at anytime with the service of staff herein.

According to Kha Chanh, vice director of the Historical and Cultural Park, thousands of visitors have visited the temple. This year’s Hung Kings death anniversary will be held from April 22-24 with festivities and ceremonials.

This is the second time the park holds the death anniversary and it is expected to welcome thousands of visitors.
