Gifts donated to the poor

On the occasion of the Vu Lan festival 2019, Tan Uyen district’s Red Cross Society and its Volunteers’ Club have jointly offered 101 gifts worth VND350,000 each, including instant noodle, rice, sugar, cooking oil, fish sauce, seasoning powder… to the poor, the disabled and lonely elderly people in Tan Hiep, Tan Hung wards and Bach Dang commune.

*North Tan Uyen district has also presented 100 gifts worth VND700,000 each, comprising of VND300,000 in cash and essential commodities, to the local poor people.

It is known that the charity program has a total cost of VND70million, funded by some companies.

*Prior to that, a group of women from Chanh Nghia ward in TDM city provided free vegetarian meals for the poor on August 13 and 14 (July 13 and 14 of lunar calendar).

The charity program was organized in the front of the People’s Committee of Chanh Nghia ward on Bui Quoc Khanh street. This was also one of female groups providing free meals for pilgrims on the annual Thien Hau Lady Temple festival.
