2nd Congress of provincial Students Association concludes

The second Congress of provincial Students Association for the 2015-2020 tenure officially closed on the morning of January 10 after two working days.

The Executive Board of the 2nd provincial Students Association introduced at the congress

 Attending the event were Nguyen Thanh Liem, Head of provincial Public Relations Committee; Huynh Van Nhi, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Vo Van Minh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Bui Quang Huy, Permanent Vice-Chairman of Vietnam Students Association, Vietnamese heroic mothers and 180 delegates representing more than 20,000 students at province-based universities and colleges.

After two working days, the congress reviewed the results of implementation of the Resolution set out by the first congress of provincial Students Association for the 2010-2015 tenure; discussed orientations and tasks of the association for the 2015-2020 tenure; nominated 29 candidates into the new executive board. Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh was elected as Chairwoman of the 2nd provincial Students Association.

On this occasion, provincial Students Association was awarded the certificate of merit of Prime Minister. Thirty two collectives and individuals were also awarded the certificates of merit of the Central Committee of Vietnam Students Association and provincial People’s Committee for their excellent performance in the local students’ movements in the last tenure.

Addressing the congress, Nguyen Thanh Liem, Head of Public Relations Committee and Bui Quang Huy, Permanent Vice-Chairman of Vietnam Students Association spoke highly of achievements done by provincial Students Association in the last tenure. They also asked for provincial Students Association to put more focus on education of political ideology for students; continue effectively implementing the local students’ movements, honoring outstanding individuals; promote cultural and sports movements at the local students’ demand for healthy recreation…
