Update: 02-12-2011 | 00:00:00

Built in 1957, Phu Loi Prision with 9 major cells for nearly 500 prisoners each was famous for brutality of the then government against political revolutionists and soldiers.

On ending days of December 1958, the puppet government Diem poisoned prisoners held in Phu Loi Prison, causing rage among peace-loving generations. This also triggered revolutionary movements. By July 10, 1980, the remains of Phu Loi Prison was graded as national war remains and evidence of crimes.

At the ceremony, Provincial People’s Committee Deputy Chair Huynh Van Nhi awarded PM’s memorentos to 5 individuals who survived from hardship for the revolutionary cause. In the sideline of the ceremony, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism broke ground to renovate the war remains at the cost of nearly VND 47 billion.
